Ground Base Options
Sleeved bases are a simple, quick and effective solution for installing Auskick through to Senior sized AFL goal posts. They make it quick and easy to remove and store goals during the off-season, with no cranes or heavy machinery needed.
Hinged bases are a safe, WHS compliant option for installing all AFL goal posts. The hinge plate positions the J-bolts, allowing posts to be manually raised and lowered safely, with no cranes or heavy machinery needed.
Can I self-install AFL goals?
YES! Our products are designed to be self-installed and assembled, so you can save time and money by self-installing your new AFL goal posts. Our technical team are available to provide more information and advice.
If you'd prefer to outsource this job, our sub-contractors are available to assist with your project in many locations around Australia. And in locations that we don’t service, we can recommend local contractors for you to engage directly.
How do I install sleeved AFL goals?
PILA’s sleeved AFL goals can be removed any time during the season and stored in the off-season. Ground sleeves are permanently set in concrete beneath the turf with the goal post spigot slotting into the sleeve and locking securely in place. At season’s end, the posts lift out and off-season caps are fitted.
How do I install hinged AFL goals?
PILA’s hinged AFL goals can be removed any time during the season and stored in the off-season. The ground bolts stay permanently embedded in concrete below the turf, and when the goals are removed, the bolts can be safely covered with sand, soil, or cover plates - keeping the playing surface safe.

- Nuts, bolts and brackets are tight and secure.
- When lowering posts, ensure bases remain clear of debris.
- Inspect for signs of damage or missing components.
Do I measure circumference or diameter?
We get asked this question almost daily! If you're trying to work out what size goal posts you need, particuarly if you're replacing existing goals, we often require the diameter of what you have on your field. Diameter is the distance across a circle, straight through the centre, and circumference is the distance around the outside of the circle (like the edge or the rim).
I need repairs or spare parts
Our products are designed to be self-maintained and we offer a full range of spare parts for purchase. Parts can be fitted by yourself or a licenced tradesperson, and our team are available to provide technical support over the phone.
