Free AFL Goal Posts For Schools.
PILA’s AFL goal posts have been gifted to more than 100 schools throughout Sydney and regional NSW.
The AFL upped the ante by supplying more than 100 schools in NSW with fully-funded goal posts as the AFL continues their push into traditional rugby league and rugby union heartlands. The goal post program, run by AFL NSW/ACT, has supplied PILA’s goal posts to more than 100 primary and states schools across the state.
It’s confirmed approximately 50 fields of AFL goal posts were supplied to schools in the Sydney metropolitan with the other 50 fields of footy goal posts supplied to rural areas, stretching from Albury on the states southern border, to Broken Hill in the far west and Coffs Harbour on the mid-north coast.
“In response to the growing demand for our game, the AFL has been running a successful goal posts program since 2011,” said the AFL NSW-ACT chief executive. “The aim of the program is to install a minimum of 20 new fields of goals posts per year, to schools with a strong interest in AFL, throughout metro and regional NSW. We know that having access to goals posts encourages kids to get active, play socially and learn the skills of the game.”
